Evolution Of The Pantry

And this is how it all started--with some ripped out shelves and an industrial looking vent.

Then the carpenters rebuilt the shelves, added an additional shelf up on the top to make up for the space lost from the vent, and built a chase around the vent. We can almost reach that high shelf without the assistance of a step stool too.

Then came the task of texturizing the chase that was built around the vent and painting everything. And for some reason, painting always spurs on more paiting and we decided to repaint our laundry room too (not pictured) since it had the same color of paint.
Next came the painstaking task of cutting (and recutting) and laying down (and re-laying down) shelving paper and gradually restocking the shelves.

A trip to the Container Store left us with a couple of shelf extenders pictured on the right which have been really handy.

Fully restocked shelves. The only step left is for the linoleum to be repatched and then we can add the rest of the bulky stuff that usually sits on the ground back in.
